Upcoming Important Dates to be aware of:
December 4th – Resonate Music Gala @the Cosmopolitan Seniors Centre in Saskatoon
This evening will feature musical performances from PSSD students as well as local community musicians. Tickets will include the performance, dessert, and coffee/tea/juice. Poinsettias will also be on site available for auction. This event aims to provide some PSSD students with opportunities to perform and engage with local musicians and will also act as a fundraiser for Resonate 2016: Student Music Conference. Dessert will be catered by PickNic’s Catering. Tickets are: $15/adults, $10/K-12 students and must be purchased by November 20th. Stay tuned for the ticket release date and ordering instructions.
April 13th – Resonate 2016: Teacher PD Music Conference @ Cedar Lodge, near Blackstrap Lake, south of Saskatoon
In its second year, Resonate will be expanding this time to include a full day of PD for teachers from all over Saskatchewan. Session topics to include some or all of the following: Hip Hop, Musical Instrument Building, Jamming, Cross-Curricular project based learning, Guitar, Ukulele, Song Writing, First Nations Culture, Digital Recording, Radio, Music Industry Panel, and Drumming. Stay tuned for registration process and fee information.
April 14th & 15th – Resonate 2016: Student Music Conference @ Cedar Lodge, near Blackstrap Lake, south of Saskatoon
Based on the success of the inaugural Resonate 2015, plans are underway for a second attempt. Resonate 2016 will be for students in grades 7-12 to attend. Sessions for students of any level of previous musical background and knowledge base will include some or all of the following: Hip Hop, Musical Instrument Building, Jamming, Guitar, Ukulele, Song Writing, First Nations Culture, Digital Recording, Radio, Music Industry Panel, Instrument Repair, and Drumming. Again this year, we are hopeful that through fundraising and sponsorship, we will be able to provide this experience (except transportation) to students without cost to them.
